Private GP service opens in East Kent
As we all know, access to your GP in a timely fashion is becoming increasingly difficult, as my GP colleagues both locally and nationally are becoming swamped with work as the population exponentially grows, without a corresponding increase in GP workforce.
Despite their best efforts, there is a demographic timebomb within the GP world with a large number of GPs retiring and the fact that an increasing number of the younger generation replacing them wish to work part-time.
The reality of the situation with both funding and lack of time in the GP world has been brought to public attention by a forward thinking GP Dr Prit Buttar in the national press recently – see http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/01/27/no-146-per-patient-not-enough-time-gps-charge-fees/
Due to the ongoing problems with GP access locally, I am often asked by my Private Patients if I know of a local Private GP service and recently a Friend and much respected local GP colleague Dr Allan Fox has started up just such a service. He has asked my wife Rachel to join him.
If you are interested in just such a service, you can investigate things further at www.privategphealthcare.com
